Our Mission

How it all began.....

It all started on a sunny Thursday arvo in December 2022, over a few cold beers at our beloved local, Whitfords Brewing Co.

Daniel turned to his mate Cobey and said something along the lines of, “I want to do a Postie Bike challenge to raise money for charity. Let’s ride from Mundaring to Albany… through the bush.”

Now, most people would pause, ask a few questions, Cobey? He didn’t flinch. “Count me in!” he said—despite not owning a bike, or having any idea what they were in for. And just like that, the MundAl1000 was born.

Within weeks the pair approached Barry, Daniels brother to sign on as the support driver who obliged without hesitation, bought their first Postie Bikes, and rounded up a few more brave souls to come on board.

That first ride raised $26,319  for the Kids Cancer Support Group, proving that with enough enthusiasm small ideas can turn into great ones. With such a success the MundAl1000 has now become an annual event.

Our Mission

The Mundal 1000 presents a valuable opportunity to advance our objective of establishing an annual postie bike challenge, dedicated to raising funds for charitable causes. This event enables individuals from all walks of life to contribute meaningfully to those in need while supporting our selected charity, KSCG

our Vision

The Mundal 1000, is an exciting opportunity providing a platform to promote our vision to hold an annual postie bike event raising funds to help others in need. This event allows us as ordinary everyday people to make a difference for those in need and support our chosen charity KSCG.

Our Story so far.......

After the successful completion of our inaugural 2023 event, we were proud to raise $26,319 in support of the Kids Cancer Support Group (KCSG).

In 2024, we welcomed some fresh faces to the challenge—Chris Williamson, Wayne Darcy, and Tim Felton—who joined original Mundal 1000 riders Daniel Manester and Cobey Brader. Together, this mighty team raised an incredible $45,167, bringing our running total to over $70,000 raised for KCSG.

Now in 2025, we’re gearing up to do it all again. Returning to the adventure are Daniel, Cobey, Chris, and Wayne, and we’re excited to welcome Rob Allam & Jason Gray to the crew.

This year also brings a bittersweet moment. In early 2025, we sadly lost our beloved friend, brother, and support driver, Barry Manester. His loss has left a big hole in our team and our hearts. In true community spirit, many put their hands up to help, and along with returning support crew member William Manester, we’re grateful to welcome safety drivers Andrew Harvey and Richard Nell, along with our dedicated First Aid Officer, Chris Stevenson.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all our family, friends, corporate partners, and event sponsors. Your generosity and encouragement have made these incredible results possible—and most importantly, continue to make a difference for a very worthy cause.
